The Oak Tree Centre provides the local community with a GP practice, PCT community health services as well as a dentist surgery and a community café. The site is at the heart of the Oxmoor estate in Huntingdon, England, and the Oak Tree project is an integral part of a wider regeneration initiative by Huntingdonshire District Council and Huntingdonshire Housing Partnership in which macmon was also involved.
Fundamental to the design of The Oak Tree Centre has been the inclusion of a natural ventilation strategy to promote the proven benefits to health and general well being arising from the natural environment. The project required a wide consultation with community groups, patient groups, professional user groups, client representatives and funding advisers.
