05/01/2010Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the State Hospital in Carstairs is now completed and consists of patients’ facilities and an Essential Services building.
The Skye Centre provides recreational, vocational and therapeutic spaces whilst the Essential Services facility processes deliveries and features a woodchip biomass boiler which will service the whole site.
Two more phases will complete the high secure £60m project in late 2011.
