As architects directing and influencing the design and specification of all aspects of building, we recognise and accept our responsibility to minimise energy consumption, fossil fuel depletion and damage to the environment.
Our design ethos embraces:
- Awareness of ‘embodied energy’, promoting the use of local materials and low carbon technologies.
- Promotion of passive energy design, exploiting natural lighting and ventilation, orientation for ‘winter sun’ solar heat gains and thermal mass for summer cooling.
- Awareness of natural light and ventilation as vital components for promoting health and well being.
The collaboration process is fundamental to our methodology and extends to the entire client/user group, all design team members and artists.
